DOUBLE VISION: DOUBLE DENIM

Hey y'all! It's Sunday, so of course that means it's time for this week's Double Vision post! Double Vision is a series of awesomely fun posts that I do with my friend Hanna of The Wardrobe Challenge. If you're new to the blog, you can read more about it here

This week, Hanna suggested that we do double denim for our challenge. I'm a huge fan of wearing double denim (I do live in Texas afterall), so I was up for it. She also thought it would be fun to glam things up a bit and add jewelry to the mix. You can see my take of glitzy double denim below.

shirt (similar) - Old Navy | belt - Torrid | jeans (up to a size 20 and run large) - GAP | bag - Madewell
leopard heels (similarsimilar) - Ivanka Trump via Zappos | jewelry (try this, this, this) - Forever21

I've lived here in Texas for over half my life, and it never fails to make me giggle when I hear other people's perception of us here in the Lone Star State. I've heard that everyone here owns a pickup truck (not true) and wears cowboy boots (another non-truth). The shows on tv also don't help, as they often show Texas girls wearing their denim with sky-high heels, some kind of animal print, and tons of sparkly accessories (usually diamonds or something). So my outfit today was inspired by some of those false assumptions, because well, why not. If you can't poke fun of yourself, then what's the point, right? :)

Anyway, enough about me, let's go over to Hanna's blog and see her take on glammed up double denim!

  2. I love the shape of those jeans! Damn you, Gap, for only going to a 20! I also like that the chambray has polka dots. I found a similar top at Maurices, but sadly it didn't fit. I think of Texas as a lot like North Carolina, but with maybe a little more Southern accent and a lot more state pride.

  3. OOh, amazing look, you look so classy. I've never tried gap jeans, do they have any stretch to them?
